Brent Murphy

Hi I'm Brent. I'm 21 and I currently work full time for a credit union as a lending specialist (Consumer, not real estate) and am looking forward to my journey in real estate. I first became interested in real estate about a year ago after purchasing a book regarding personal finance after I moved into an apartment. While the personal finance book barely touched on the topic my interest was peaked when the author stated "While risky, real estate is an excellent vehicle for building wealth and retirement". I wasn't completely sold on real estate yet, however after reading another book regarding general investing real estate came up again. At the point I thought "Okay, I really need to start looking into this". I then begin browsing books on Amazon sifting through reviews and their "Look Inside" feature which game me a chance to read through a portion of the book. Ultimately I didn't buy any books but I did add some to my wish list. My primary reason for not buying any books were because the authors had blogs and I decided to check them out. Well those blogs soon pointed me towards bigger pockets and after watching several podcasts and reading additional blogs I decided to sign up. Lastly, per the recommendation of a several guests on the podcasts I decided to purchase Rich Dad Poor Dad. Which should be arriving in a few days.
