Originally from Scotland, I made the move to Whistler, British Columbia to follow my passion for the outdoors - mainly mountain biking and skiing. I was supposed to be here for a year maybe 2 max before returning to New Zealand where I had lived previously. Nearly 10 years later I'm still here and enjoying every minute of it. I recently moved to the Sunshine Coast when the pandemic hit off of us to see about getting into the real estate world and a change of scenery. The move has been worth it to be able to get property and start my journey to financial freedom. Since then I moved back into the Sea to Sky to get back into the mountains! Recently jumped onto the property ladder for the first time with a standard house hack. Now with the renovation complete I am looking to refi and move my initial investment into something new. I was looking at STR in Whistler or another tourist hot spot but the high prices in the market and the crazy over-bids on the list prices have steered me back to the multi-family space. This year I am looking to absorb and learn from all walks of life from anywhere in the real estate world to help get me along the path to passive income. The goal for this year is to purchase my first multi-family in North America, most likely it will be in Canada.
