Started out with my first home purchase in the mid Atlantic in 2007. We paid so much during the bubble that 9 years later the house still isn't worth what we paid (fortunately rent now covers the mortgage). I felt so burned by that deal that I sought out and purchased a couple foreclosures over the next few years in hopes of making up for the earlier poor decision. Those two foreclosures have sky rocketed in value to the point that I've been able to purchase two more homes in Colorado and am looking now for a 5th investment property (vacation house) in a ski town. And all of this has been done on a fairly modest income that hasn't increased much in the last 10 years. I've learned everything about investing on my own and through my two amazing realtors over the years. I'm hooked and see how this game works. I know when I see a valuable property and won't settle for less than a great deal on any p purchase. Wish I could get my siblings and friends on board but they just think I've gotten lucky and that real estate is too risky. Sigh. I've loved this podcast since I first discovered it recently! My hope is to get insights on pre market properties and tips for inexpensive remodeling. That's the other thing about me...I only buy dumps as I feel that's where the best deals are. Lots of work though. And I think I'm driving my husband mad with my passion for real estate!
