I am a Field Coordinator in the commercial HVAC installation field. My wife and I have 4 kids between the 2 of us. I have been spending the last 7 years looking for a new pursuit in life. Back in 2007 I was one of the many Americans that was illegally foreclosed on by Bank of American. This situation forced me to file bankruptcy. Going into survival mode looking for a place for my family before the eviction came. I fortunately and unfortunately found a local company that would help " repair my credit" and at the same time set us up with a realtor to find us a rent to buy property. Long story short, this was a blessing at the time but overall was a bad deal. Without getting into the details we now live in a house we just had built. Through out the process of the ending times at the rent to buy home with the first investor wanting out of the deal, selling it to a new investor, jacking up our buying price $20,000 more, I leaned a bit about the process. FYI the rent to buy home was including semi finished basement and finished attic right at 10,000 sq. Ft.. Too much for us but with no place to go we had no choice that I was aware of at the time. Anyway I was talking to one of my new employees that has been learning about wholesaling, and has made a few deals.I had been pondering on the real estate world from seeing the process of the r.t.b. house toward the end. He told me about bigger pockets and I have been addicted sense i found the podcast. I am currently on episode 27 and learning a lot. He also told me about 2 local Ria's that he attends. My goal is to start in wholesaling, just taking my time to learn a bit first, this is a whole new world for me but it has caught my attention more that any other pursuit ideas have. I'm pretty excited about learning more and very thankful I was lead to Bigger Pockets.
