In the last 15 years I’ve worked in tech (banking analytics, marketing, cybersecurity, etc.) before that I was in real estate development. I’m trying to pick up where I left off and invest in real estate for the long term. Early in 2006 I co-founded a real estate development company we did 3 apartment to condo conversion projects (100+ units) and got out during the downturn in 2008. Total profit was a little over $1mil. Got my RE license at that time (enough point for a brokers license) but then got into tech and got out of real estate. Before 2005 while I was in college I did land acquisition for a few developers, worked as a loan officer, and worked for a hard money lender. Having worked in real estate during the crash I've seen people I know make and lose millions.
