David Toupin

David Toupin, partner and co-founder of Obsidian Capital, brings several years of multifamily and commercial real estate experience with involvement in the acquisition and ownership of hundreds of apartment units and commercial assets. As one of the youngest multifamily owner/operators in the industry, David has acquired a portfolio of nearly 500 multifamily units worth nearly $40,000,000 by the age of 23. David brings experience in underwriting multifamily deals, managing lender and equity partners along the acquisition process, and implementing plans for operations of multifamily properties. David has also self managed several large multifamily assets. David has a background working in corporate auditing and investment banking, and has been a serial entrepreneur since the age of 13. David is a member of a high level real estate group – The Multifamily Boardroom – composed of over 40 high level multifamily owners and operators with average ownership of over 1,000 units owned per member. He also has a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Detroit Mercy. David is partners with Glenn Gonzales - a local Texas industry veteran - at Obsidian Capital. Glenn has experience in owning and managing a portfolio of nearly 5,000 apartments prior to co-founding Obsidian Capital with David.
