By day, I am searching for the deals. By night, I am a police officer. Equally passionate about both chosen paths. I assisted a local real estate investor on a rental in the summer of 2018. I traded sweat equity for a learning experience and was proud to hear his rent went from $700 to $1100. Soon after I bought my first house for $83,000 and put roughly $3500 into it cleaning it up, installing floors and just what I call “polishing the turd”. I wanted to hold as a rental but due to an unexpected job change 125 miles away I could not and the numbers did not add up. 9 months after closing, I sold it in 4 days for an $8,500 profit. 1/2019-9/2019 I am currently partnered on two rentals with a friend who owns 2 houses on 1 parcel but has 0 knowledge on the business side of it, sharing the knowledge I have acquired over the last few years.
