Dona Miller

Hello, My name is Dona Miller. I am interested in learning Real Estate investing. My primary areas of interest are Portland, OR; and especially the North Oregon Coast (i.e Rockaway Beach, OR; Nehalem, OR; Garibaldi, OR). I first joined Bigger Pockets a few years ago. But I realize now that, at the time I was attempting to set my goals to high, and without the proper research, I soon became discouraged. But I have a good eye for investment deals, as illustrated in the 2 examples below (verifiable). 1) A property in Portland I spotted vacant was purchased for $ 235k. It was flipped - and sold 4 months later for $420k. 2) A manufactured home in Rockaway Beach was listed through the VA for 30k - less than the assessment on the land its estimated rental income is currently valued at over $1,200/month. I have done quite a bit of research and reading since I first found Bigger Pockets. I am no longer setting goals beyond my reach. I have to be honest. I have no money, and no investment experience. (Though I do have knowledge and experience in the areas of residential construction/renovation and limited commercial construction experience). I would like to begin as a "Deal Finder," but am not quite sure even how to let people know of the properties I find and receive a finders fee. I want to build the capital I need to grow. Also, I would like to begin building a team. I am in the process of moving permanently to the coast (Tillamook County). There is a lot of new construction going on here. Properties have increased incredibly in value over the last year and a half. And there are some great deals to be found! I would love to find someone who could mentor me. I would gladly and gratefully trade services - Not only can I keep my eyes open for deals, but could do property clean-up and perform other like-kind services on properties for an investor.
