When the switch flips, it's overwhelming. When you don't have your finances together, it feels like the world is out to get you. Then, all of a sudden, you start seeing opportunity. Everywhere. And you realize, there is always an opportunity available, but you need the right perspective. And then, you get to choose which opportunities are worth pursuing, instead of waiting for the ever-elusive "golden ticket" that so many wish for. I've been in the capital area of New York for over a decade now, as both a renter and homeowner. My long-term goal is to own a small portfolio of rental properties to supplement retirement, still a couple of decades down the road, but this pandemic screams opportunity at me. I hope the economic fallout from COVID-19 is minimal, and I wish to be able to relieve a less-than-prepared landlord from their property when the dust settles. Opportunity is a coin with two sides, and there's no reason both sides can't profit in this wake. Stay safe and sane, always. When you take care of yourself, you have more to give others.
