Professional pilot with lots of free time on my hands. After pouring through the dozens of different strategies on how to build wealth with real estate found here on bigger pockets I have come to realize I fit in the "buy and hold as a part of my portfolio" camp. Slow and steady, one property every couple of years. If there is room to force appreciation, increase rents, and refi as tenants move out over time, that's great - but I'm really not looking for another job taking on majorly distressed properties, etc. As a real estate mentor of mine puts it - I'm a coupon cutter. Find something that pencils, and start collecting the dividend. Start saving for the next down payment, and repeat. I'm hoping to branch out into a multi family and compare how it performs against the single family rental I currently own. Happy with who I am, grateful for what I have, and blessed with more than I need.
