I currently own an Eastlake Victorian in Berkeley and I could use some financial help. My ex contractor really mismanaged the project and I'm stuck with a mess that I don't have the money to finish. I've kept a lot of the original trim and, since I was union plasterer, I have been plastering the inside with expanded metal lath and real three coat plaster. It;s an awesome house with a big backyard in downtown Berkeley. But I really need some help now that tax season has rolled around. I don't qualify for any conventional financing, or even hard money from a licensed broker. I've been told that I need a friends and family loan to complete the renovation.
