I am a newbie real estate investor that came across Bigger Pockets while backpacking Africa, it became clear that real estate investing was the path I needed to take to get to financial freedom. On those long bus rides down the continent I listened to every podcast and read a dozen books. I decided to relocate to San Antonio to be in the path of growth. I'm a mechanical engineer with a decade of experience in the construction industry. My expertise is in energy efficiency, HVAC and plumbing. I plan to keep my job to fund my real estate goals and to get traditional bank loans. My goal is to BRRRR as many buy-and-hold to replace 1.5 times my W2 income. I will focus on small multifamily and maybe some SFHs in C+ or B neighborhoods. Each unit must cash-flow at least $300 after leveraged mortgage, property taxes, insurance, maintenance, repairs, CapEx and property management. My first property will be a house hack 4-plex. I've been analyzing deals everyday and am very excited about the move. I'm looking to meet local San Antonio real estate investors to see how we can be mutually beneficial to each-other.
