After retiring as a school administrator I have spent the last 20 years building my rental home business. I buy and hold, finding deals in my area which require rehab and then use vendors to do most of the work. I currently own 5 single family homes in Texas and 15 single family homes in Illinois. I would like to expand by buying and rehabbing one house per year for the next 5 years. I have learned that the secret to landlording is great renters. I will be happy to share what I have learned about rental real estate with anyone who is interested.
