I'm an engineer and currently own a SFR in Oakland, which I live in. I grew up in Arkansas, and have lived in Dallas and Houston before coming to the Bay Area. I still have contacts in Arkansas, primarily North Little Rock and Hot Springs, but also in Malvern, Ashdown and Camden areas. Experience: This is the 4th property that I've bought, but the first I've owned all on my own (1st two were within my marriage, and 3rd was a Tenancy in Common converted to condo in SF). I never made any money on RE until the 3rd property (1st and 2nd were a wash financially, and I signed a Quit Claim on the 2nd when we divorced). Real Estate Goals: I'm interested mostly in building passive income for my future, most likely by purchasing buy and hold rentals. Since the Bay Area is so expensive, I will likely be investing in other areas. Besides the Arkansas connections, I also have trusted connections in Austin, Columbus, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio, so all of those markets are possibilities. Currently Seeking: Right now, I'm just reading and learning. I understand a lot about buying properties, but I need to understand what kind of deals are going to accomplish my goals, and how to go about financing them, gathering teams in potential areas.
