My wife and I reside in Franklin, IN. We have been purchasing rental property for a number of years now. (Some of our portfolio of homes is listed below) A friend of mine told me we should check out this website as a good resource for marketing with other investors, and also for the learning tools it provides. Experience: My wife and I currently own 7 single family rental properties and 1 Duplex all in Johnson County, Indiana. My wife told me a long time ago the only stipulation she has for us purchasing rental properties is we can only purchase properties that we would live in ourselves. It turned out to be probably the best advice I have ever received, as with the exception of a few calls a year, I would say our properties pretty much manage themselves......as we tend to attract long term hardworking middle class tenants. We treat our tenants with the upmost respect and, in turn, receive respect back.......in addition to, well cared for rentals. Real Estate Goals: We began purchasing rental properties as a long term plan to create passive income for our retirement. Our specific goal is to have 10 quality single family homes/Duplex in quality neighborhoods that are paid off when we retire in approximately 2032.
