My wife and I are new long distance investors that are looking to purchase our first deal. I have been reading, calculating, and analyzing properties for long enough!. I am really digging in for the first one. My wife and I have been active short-term rental hosts since 2017 and have since started a construction company. We are passionate about the short-term rental market, renovations, preserving history, and creating spaces that others can relax in and enjoy with their families. We started renovating our main residence nearly 2 years ago and are now just getting sheetrock up. It took almost 11 months to get our construction loan (way longer than anticipated!). This house is where we run 2 of our STR units, so having them shutdown this long is frustrating. We've been looking at the Medium-term rental strategy now with the changing economy and are always open to new strategies and places to invest. Our ultimate goal is to be financially free, retire (from my W2), and travel. We want to own a place in Hawaii to live at part of the year, Europe for another part, and spend our summers in the Pacific Northwest.
