Jeffrey Leon

I am a science educator at the Field Museum in Chicago. Why am I interested in investing in real estate now? The money mindset is powerful and often unspoken in my community. I come from a community where we grew up being afraid of money. I was raised to save it. As a kid, I saved my allowance, believing college would be a great investment to earn a high salary. However, even a Neuroscience Bachelor's degree was not enough. I was fortunate to pay off my college debt after graduation from all the allowance I had saved since I was eight years old. Once I discovered that I couldn't afford a higher degree, I decided to be an educator to share my passion for science. Interestingly, I find connections in finding the best co-teaching tools to work with different personalities in human beings. I recently discovered that Real Estate is a people business. Not only do I need to learn the tools to analyze numbers, but I also need to be a problem solver. That's the proactive, analytical mindset that I continue to be. I excelled in living below my means and saving money every month. I am eager to do more. I am reading David Greene's BRRR Strategy book because mastering each element of BRRRR will allow me to become an overall successful investor. As I learn and practice the basics, I attend monthly local network events to build relationships and poke at experts' brains about their real estate journey.
