I was thrust into my first home purchase because I didn't want to uproot from the house I was renting right after college which the owner was planning to sell. Therefore, my brother and I bought it together. Years later now with a wife and two kids, several relocations for my day job as a construction manager, I have purchased a few more SFH and turned them into rentals once we relocated again. Now I am looking to shift gears and gain confidence to purchase outright rentals, and learn about MFH investments. Frankly, I enjoy being a landlord, meeting the people, and being real with them (perhaps because I haven't had a bad experience). That first house we bought was in 2004, and I have added 3 more SFH rentals since then.
