I am new to real estate investing, but I've watched my father do it my entire life and I have always found it intriguing. My wife and I bought our first home last summer. Our first home was a fixer upper. I have a background in plumbing and have developed many handyman skills over the years which made me comfortable taking on a large project for our first home. Recently I made a job change that moved us from Detroit to Grand Rapids. Our first home went from a fixer upper to a flip. Our home is in the selling process and if the deal closes we will net almost $50k. I know not every project will be as profitable as our first, but I am competitive, driven and desire to take on more real estate investment opportunities.
