I happened upon Bigger Pockets through Mr Money Mustache. I am looking to diversify and strengthen my retirement nest egg by adding real estate to my portfolio. My wife and I own 4 STRs and want to keep growing our portfolio. We own three in the Colorado mountains and one in Kissimmee, Florida. My wife manages three of the properties, and we have local management for the other one. I am a CPA, and have been a Corporate Controller for over twenty-five years. Experience: Bought primary residence in 1998 Bought vacation rental in Estes Park in 2014 Sold primary residence and upgraded in 2015 Bought vacation rental in Steamboat Springs in 2017 Bought vacation rental in Kissimmee in Aug 2017 Real Estate Goals: Start with vacation rentals in an area my family likes to go to. Initial goal is to build equity to convert to retirement residence sooner than later.
