Realtor Principal Broker I’ve been in business, in one form or another, since 1970 and have a pretty good idea how things work and how to make things happen. Still, it never escapes my mind that most of what is important in life and business was learned early, in Kindergarten, as Robert Fulghum was so kind to point out: *Hold hands - Clients and Realtors need to do that, figuratively speaking of course. *Play fair – there are rules and ethics, follow them. *Pick up your things – keep the file clean. *Haste makes waste – take time to do it right. *If you meet a bully - don't back down. *Cookies and naps are good things - oatmeal please. Helping clients to buy and/or sell real estate effectively is a lot of responsibility and more difficult than many folks realize, but I love every part of it and it never feels like work. What's Important: (1) Managing expectations: This can be difficult when a client has been reading a lot on the Internet or has had some experience buying or selling property in the past. The Internet cannot factor specific circumstances and past experience cannot recognize risk it hasn’t encountered before. (2) Make Time a Friend: Plan early, you want time on your side. And a lot more, of course. There's no substitute for partnering with someone who is doing this business every day and networking with other serious professionals. Over the years I have learned the value of proper due diligence and paying attention to every detail - good things can happen with good preparation. It's not always possible to get everything we want but there is strong negotiating power when we have a clear objective, superior preparation, and time on our side. That means starting early to form a relationship and a strategy. It takes time and planning - putting it off works against success. You're welcome to contact me anytime – serious or curious just doesn’t matter, I’m always happy to have conversation about real estate.
