Kirk Kitchin

I am an experienced (37 years) real estate investor who favors buy and hold, but have recently done 2 foreclosure with rehab to rental transactions. As a teenager, I worked summers for a carpenter, so I do attempt some minor and medium difficulty repairs myself. Armed by U-tube University I have done various home related projects & repairs so far never having to give up and have a pro finish my disaster. I was born in Rhode Island, educated in upstate New York and have lived in the RTP area of NC since 1976. I have stayed away from anything but single family residential real estate so far. I am still working full time at my "normal" job so the amount of time I have to devote to real estate is limited right now. For fun (when I am not spackling or painting in "make-ready turn around work on rental houses), I race sailboats on Jordan and Kerr Lake. I have a 2-3 person sailboat (17 foot-Thistle) and a 1 person sailboat (Laser) as well. Historically I come from a agricultural and dairy farm type of "family values" background so hard work and I are old friends.
