Lucas Bennett

I grew up outside of Boston, MA. After having spent most of my adult life living and working in China, I have moved back to the states, living on the West coast for the first time, in Portland, OR. I am a big soccer player, and enjoy most types of sport and exercise. I have recently gotten into woodworking, which has been challenging and therapeutic at the same time. I am also very interested in Chinese culture and language, having studied both throughout college and post-grad. Experience: After moving to Portland and working on renovating a friend's house, I was able to link up with an investor and buy our first house to hold. We started an LLC to manage this project, and any future flips. Even more recently, I have started a small real estate investing company that will focus solely on buy-and-hold properties, and we successfully closed on our first property, a 7-plex, in February 2014. I am a big believer in learning by doing, and have already learned more than I ever thought I would know about real estate investing from my two current properties. Couple that with mentors in the community and the wealth of knowledge on Bigger Pockets, and I feel like I'll never stop learning. Real Estate Goals: Short Term #1: Buy 2 Rental properties per year for the next 5 years. Short Term #2: Buy and flip 2 properties per year for the next 5 years. Short Term #3: Diversify the type of properties that my company owns (Industrial, Commercial, Retail etc.) Short Term #4: Get well connected with others in the industry, focusing mainly in the Pacific NW. Long Term: Build a business that can autonomously run, allowing me to step back and spend more time with friends and family, while pursuing my other passions, and sleeping on a bed of money. Currently Seeking: I'm always interested in meeting and talking with anyone in the industry.
