Liam Wilber

I'm originally from Geneva, NY and currently live in Kapolei, HI. I have been on active duty in the Navy for the past 6 years (all on Oahu). Early in my Navy career I realized I wanted to achieve financial independence and looked to entrepreneurship to do exactly that. I started reading and listening to everything I could about real estate investing, developing an entrepreneur mindset, and maximizing my potential. I'm currently trying to grow my real estate portfolio in my hometown. My biggest regret is that I didn't house hack and use my VA loan as soon as I moved to Oahu. Even without knowing what house hacking was, I saw the power of using a VA loan to buy a house and rent the rooms out, but I was too intimidated to make that jump so early in my professional career. My goal is to help other military members not make the same mistake I did and buy a house as soon as they get to Hawaii, as I have first hand experience on how many opportunities home ownership in Hawaii can present to service members. While I wish I bought my house three years sooner, I consider myself blessed to be able to offer others the perspective of regret, while simultaneously having the outlook that it's never too late to buy.
