I am the owner of Aequitas Housing, LLC based in New Orleans, LA. I began investing in multi-family real estate just before Hurricane Katrina in 2005 with the purchase of a single duplex. Since that time, I have steadily acquired additional apartment units utilizing my personal capital, equity from existing projects, and capital from a partner to grow the portfolio. My initial 2 and 4 unit deals have been consolidated into three properties of 16, 37, and 120 units respectively for a total of 173 units. Initially formed as Sustainable Housing Group, LLC, Aequitas Housing was created to scale up my apartment investment activities. I am seeking to acquire 100 to 250 unit multifamily properties by partnering with investors and utilizing the same long-term non-recourse GSE and Conduit debt that I have used thus far. I have been investing in real estate for 10 years now and have professional experience in the residential and commercial mortgage businesses (including tax credit financing). I have worked in commercial RE development as Development Officer for Columbus Properties, LP / Joseph Canizaro Interests, one of New Orleans largest and most successful commercial real estate development companies. I have also worked in the aerospace and logistics sectors in leadership positions, currently serving as President of TCI Packaging - a packager of plastic resins which in 2014 will have packaged over 600 million lbs of PVC. I earned a BS in Finance and an MBA from the University of New Orleans and a Masters in International Business from Ecole Superieure de Commerce, Grenoble (France).
