I have owned small businesses for the last 30 years. I bought my first single family rental house after the market crash and rented it out with limited success. I bought several more houses over the next 10 years and hired a management company to handle the day to day operations. I then sold my small business and collect rent on the building that the business is housed in. I have completed about 1/2 dozen flips and recently invested with 3 other experienced investors into a small (16 unit) apartment complex that we are fixing up and will be selling it as soon as the property is repositioned and rented out. At that point, I will be looking for another multifamily project.
