Just to clarify, we're not really lenders but Note Buyer isn't one of the occupations listed here as a real estate occupation! "Lender" comes as close as anything, I guess. Kevin and I invest in real estate notes, specifically hypothecations (a fancy word for buying partials where the owner of the note maintains control of the security in case of default). We've landed a few good deals doing this, and since we're retirement age (but not yet retired), we're interested in mailbox money and cash flow. Hypothecating notes is perfect for us! In my other life, I'm a virtual assistant specializing in online bookkeeping and creating websites for small business clients from Texas, Missouri, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Kevin is a technical writer for the Auditing department of the US Bank corporate offices in Minneapolis.
