My wife and I moved to Colorado in 2003 and bought our first house in 2004 (still have it). We partnered with my in-laws to do a couple of fix-and-flips. We did almost all of the remodel work ourselves. The market CRASHED as we finished up the work on the second and we gave up after losing money on that house. Years later we were able to put together a down-payment for a second house to move our family into and realized that we could keep the first. That sparked our interest in getting back into real estate investing and we have been consuming as much information as possible ever since. We want to build a portfolio of rental properties until we can get out of working altogether. We also own a small organic hair salon in Wash Park, Denver. My wife is a Master Stylist. I was a bartender for 19 years and retired from that at 40. I was also a nutritionist for 6 years. Now, I teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and manage the coaching staff at an academy in Littleton, CO.
