I've been in oil & gas engineering for 30 years. I like my job but I am not doing what I got into the business to do. I like the idea of investing in real estate - too many benefits to list. I am married. I have a daughter who is married. What do I really like to do? Travel!!! We love to travel. Beyond that, I don't have many other hobbies. We bought our first investment property in September 2018. Blue collar neighborhood, good school district, near where I grew up in SE Texas. We probably over rehabbed but we are happy with how it turned out. We have since purchased 2 more properties. We are learning. It is great when the money is rolling in, it’s another thing when you start having major expenses like roof replacement, tree removal, fence replacement, a/c replacement - that’s the stuff we land lords don’t mention when we are talking about how great this is…
