I love real estate! In my teens, my father owned a 5 unit apartment complex in north Pacific Beach in San Diego and I helped with the maintenance and tenant issues. After undergraduate school, I worked for an investment firm that served high net worth investors and it was my responsibility to find, underwrite, negotiate, purchase, and create the private placement memorandums for multi-family apartments. Within twelve months, we had acquired over 343 units with a gross purchase value of $14,000,000. We raised approximately $3,500,000 in equity. All properties were "valued-add" acquisitions. We also purchased a 4-story medical office building for $2.65 M raising $750,000 in equity.. I then worked as a senior financial analyst at commercial mixed-use development real estate firm. We built the Aventine complex ($325M) and $25M high-end sporting clubs throughout the U.S. I then gravitated towards start-up ventures, and strategic management consulting which I have been doing for the past 15 years. I have an MBA in finance and international business. I am excited to get back into real estate investing focusing on 20-100 unit apartment buildings with a "buy and hold" for long-term cash flow. I would love to invest locally in San Diego but due to market conditions, I will be looking at other markets throughout the U.S. I am actively seeking passive investors. I am grateful for this forum and appreciate the help from those who are more experienced than I am, having been out of the real estate market for a few years. I am happy to help in any way possible.
