Hi all, I was born and raised in the city. I remember when midtown was capital court, and north ridge was actually a thing. Unknown to me I have been working in real estate since I was a knee high, holding plywood for my mom to cut as we insulated the attic. As I grew up I started to notice the difference in communities different family members lived. It wasn’t until I graduated college and needed to figure out what to do with myself that I took a deep dive. Learning that my home zip code of 53206 has both two thirds of the cities distressed properties and the highest incarceration rates of men my age. Well, I figured there has to be a way to raise two ships with one tide. So, I launched my own handyman business with the hopes that one day it’ll turn into a real estate firm the acquires, redevelops and manages properties to serve housing distressed communities. I get that some areas are undesirable to outside investment, but at the same time I also realize that there are other individuals like me that also call this environment home. I for one want to be on the right side of history being the change I want to see.
