I am a building engineer with experience in luxury high rise apartment and office buildings. I have taken my mechanical ability and paired it with my knowledge of multi family housing and started investing in real estate. My plan is to continue my day job and throw everything I can come up with at my real estate portfolio. Experience: In 2006 my wife and I purchased a 1450 sq ft 3/2 SFD home for ourselves. As all know, that was the boom before the bust. During the bust we struggled to make ends meet and eventually ended up moving to DC for better jobs. By doing this were able to hang onto our home and turned it into a rental. In 2015 after a lot of long hours and hundreds of side jobs we were able to pay off our mortgage. Having a little extra cash flow we started looking for further investment opportunities. At the start of 2016 we purchased a 10 year old 1400 sq ft 3/2.5 townhouse that had been stripped of cabinets, WH, and HVAC. I spent 10 long days on the rehab and rented it almost immediately after listing it with my management agency. Our next project was a 1440 sq ft 3/2 SFD TOTAL rehab. The electric, plumbing and HVAC had been stripped from this home. It needed a new roof, new siding, garage door, deck, and the list goes on in what seems to be perpetuity! I did as much work as possible myself. The property is now complete and it rented before it was even complete. The ball is rolling. We now have ten homes. What's next? Real Estate Goals: I am working to build a buy/hold portfolio in my free time that will permit me to go into this business full time. I will be calling on my wife's expertise at multifamily real-estate management and bring her onboard full time as well. We make an excellent team and intend to leverage our expertise and build a great family owned business that we can pass on to our future generations. Currently Seeking: All my buy/hold properties are in Griffin, GA. I would be interested in other areas for the right property. Homes that will rent for $1000+/mo are what I'm focusing on.
