I am an economics major currently working in the Space & Defense industry. I have recently moved out to Houston from Los Angeles and will be in the market for a new job. While starting up here in Houston, I'm interested in putting my minor background & experience in real estate to use by capitalizing on the real estate growth here in Texas. I am really looking at real estate as a long term investment to help save for the future and create some passive income. I've worked for various mortgage companies in the past and studied urban development in college. My experience in real estate primary comes from an academic background with an understanding of the mortgage process. My short term goal is to acquire my first rental property so I can learn hands on. As I gain more experience, I hope to grow from a single property owner to developing a system where I can work on my own terms! Real Estate Goals: Short Term (0-6 months): Buy my 1st rental property and learn hands on Mid-Term (6 months - 2 years): Build up to a handful of properties creating a source of semi-passive income. Long Term: Work under my own terms! I have been following the typical path of getting a good education (BA & MA in Economics) and getting a steady W2 job. Over the past 5+ years, I've realized that no matter how much work I put in, it really is never enough when you work for a large umbrella company. Currently Seeking: 1) First rental property (SFR to Multi-Unit) within Houston, TX 2) A real estate broker/agent with investing experience
