I slowly acquired a few rental properties in the Washington DC area over several years, while maintaining my IT job. But, I am not like most BP members. I am now retired with full access to my financial portfolio. I am not trying to build a real estate business, per se though I am passionate about real estate investing. My goal is to acquire a few more buy-n-holds. The cash flow would provide extra spending money for my golden years. And ideally, appreciation and equity would provide the beginning of generational wealth for my family. My preferred area is across the bridge (from Alexandria) into nearby PG County, MD. I may have to first do a long-distance Turnkey place as it's just too crazy right now trying to buy and renovate. My preference is small multi-family or a single that could be turned into a duplex. I would love to find a BP partner, with more experience and connections, looking to do the same!
