Hi BiggerPockets (BP) Community, this is Rick. I joined BP on August 29, 2017. I attended a Real Estate Investors Association meeting and was told about BP. One of my main short term goals is to network with like minded individuals, so the meet up and BP are great places to start. Although I do have one current rental property and was a Real Estate agent from 04-09, I do consider myself a newbie. I know that there are a lot of things I can learn about investing in Real Estate. The condo I own was bought as my first home with my wife, so my criteria was personal rather than investment based. We lived there for 8 years and had two daughters. Knowing that we needed more house we made the move to Mount Prospect in 2013. I held on to the Condo and decided to rent it out. My association by-laws allows for 4 consecutive years as rental and I have reached that point. So, I put the condo up for sale. I enjoyed building up the equity in my condo by renting it out and, I would like to continue to do that closer to home. Always looking to learn and meet others who have the same passion/vision for creating financial flexibility through Real Estate investing.
