I am a new investor that is currently looking to build a rockstar team (yes, I read the books). I plan to go full on real estate investing and make it my full time career. I have 4 1/2 years in residential construction, with 6 months mixed in of various types of commercial construction. I am looking to invest in Maryland currently, but I am open to investing anywhere that makes sense. As of February 2021, I still have not started officially moving into investing. I have not been so active on biggerpockets due to life circumstance changes, but now that things have turned for the better I am going to start investing heavily in the near future. I am looking for ways to get low cost loans and decent properties to flip or do long term rents on. I am looking to build a 500+ unit portfolio and plan on retiring from there. My experience in construction also allowed me to spend time with a real estate investor who started from nothing. He died at the age of 55 with well over 100 single family homes and several commercial properties. The first property is always the hardest he said. I currently live in my first property.
