I'm new to the real estate investing world, but excitedly working toward financial independence over the next 5 or so years, which will enable me to exit active duty army service in my mid 30's. My wife and I are planning to purchase our first house-hack duplex in summer '19. We are currently leaning toward BRRRRs and small multifamily buy and holds for our long term plan. Our financial freedom goals are: Maximized family time, Generosity to our family, church and community, and travel achieved through passive income.
