Shoaib Ali Chaudhary

Hi, my name is Shoaib Ali Chaudhary, but I go by Ali. I have worked in construction for about eight years, and recently I made the decision to start working for myself and take on my own contracting projects. I have always been interested in real estate investing, especially house flipping and building a rental portfolio. My goal is to use my construction experience as an advantage when evaluating properties, estimating renovation costs, and creating value. While living in New York, I spent a lot of time learning about real estate during my subway commutes to Manhattan. I listened to books such as The Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner, Long-Distance Real Estate Investing by David Greene, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, and several others. Those books did more than teach me about investing—they fueled my drive to work harder, save more, and take on overtime whenever I could. It was exciting to think about the future I was working toward each day, and that vision kept me motivated even during long workdays and commutes. I eventually left New York City and moved to the Dallas area, hoping to enter the real estate market with lower capital requirements and more opportunities to grow. Creating financial freedom and having the ability to work for myself has always been my goal. I feel like I am halfway there, and I am now focused on taking the next step by completing my first investment deal and building from there. I joined BiggerPockets to continue learning, connect with experienced investors, and surround myself with people who are working toward similar goals. I am excited to learn from the community and contribute wherever my construction knowledge may be helpful.
