I am currently active duty Navy! I've been in for 9 years and have 2 more left on my contract before I plan to get out. I got stationed here in Charleston, SC at the beginning of last year and bought my first house. I had no intentions of house hacking or getting into real estate but soon after moving into my house I discovered the extremely high demand here for room rentals! I ended up renting out my spare bedrooms and once I saw how easy it was I immediately wanted to be able to expand. I recently met a great realtor who helped me purchase my second home and has sparked my interest in rental property investing! As I'm sure most people in this group have done so already, I recently read Rich Dad, Poor Dad followed by Rental Property Investing by the host of BiggerPockets and it just connected all the dots for me. I want to grow as much as I can, both in financial literacy and freedom, before I separate from the military. I would love to get to know more people and hear their experiences and learn as much as I can from this community!
