I've been a wholesale investor for about 10 years now in my state & have been doing okay, but the market in RI isn't the greatest & there's a lot of competition. I'm in a wheelchair & since I got into REI, I've found it difficult to work in my own market cause I cannot get into the homeowner's houses. I've had a few partnerships, but people see my wheelchair as a weakness & try to take advantage of this. So now I've turned my sites to virtual nationwide investing. I've partnered up & formed a multi-million dollar company with an experienced investor in MD. We've been working together for a while now & we already have done 35 commercial & residential deals together! We've got a massive network of over 5,500 investors on our Exclusive Buyers List & are always adding more serious buyers (no tire-kickers) to join our network! I started my journey in real estate over 17 years ago as a loan officer for Domestic Bank in Cranston RI. My career was just taking off when I was hit by a car (in my wheelchair) only a year after working there! I was devastated, I lost my right leg 4 inches above the knee, broke both my arms below the shoulders, & broke my left leg in 2 places! Never in my life had I ever felt cripple, but after the accident, I was in a very dark lonely place as my road to recovery took well over 4 years. Don't get me wrong, I was Thankful to be alive but very depressed nonetheless. Even though I suffered a tremendous loss, I tried to stay positive in hopes that someday I'd be back to my old self. Then, about 12 years ago I met the girl of my dreams! We met at a family wedding & I knew her from high school so after having a few beers, I mustered up the confidence to approach her to ask her out. I couldn't believe it when she said yes! I never thought another woman would want me again. We moved in together a few months later & after about 3 years she gave me the best present I could have ever imagined, she told me she was pregnant & that I was going to be a father! After my accident, I never dreamed it could be possible but here it was! 8 months later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy & we named him Ethan Jacob King-Tetreault! Now I was on top of the world, my settlement from the accident had come a year or so before & was dwindling down fast so I knew I had to do something fast to support our family! There was no way I'd be able to do a 50+ hour work week anymore like I did before my accident, but the only trade I knew was real estate & I didn't know what I could possibly do. I didn't want my son to see his Dad sitting home collecting a check every month, plus, I was a custom to living a certain way from my settlement. The stock market is a joke, so I knew that wouldn't do me any good. So I'm online 1 day, trying to separate the scams from the actual real deal business opportunities when it hit me like a ton of bricks, real estate investing! I quickly started searching & teaching myself as much as I could. The fact that I was a loan officer helped the process along. Then I met an investor out of MA named Jeff, he needed an assistant & I needed a job, perfect fit! We hit it off very fast, I worked with him for a few years & learned a lot from Jeff. After about 4 years, I felt I had earned a bigger stake in Jeff's company. I had set up a lead magnet of a website for him, increasing his business a lot! When I tried talking to him about becoming partners, or at least him paying me better he basically laughed in my face! Needless to say, I quit working for him & decided it was time to start my own company! Then Tetreault & Son Property Investors was born & I laid out a proper business plan, found a partner, & started by building up a buyers list! My first partner was great, she & I worked on several wholesale deals together! We were crushing it in my local market & I build another website which I made damn sure was better than the last one! We had over 400+ cash buyers & were finding properties for all of them. After 3 years of working night & day, my partner who is older than me told me she just couldn't handle the pressure anymore. This was about 18 months ago. Since then I've had a few J/V partners & ended up getting screwed over on a few deals! That was when I realized that if I was going to continue in investing, I needed to do it virtually.
