I am currently looking to use the Brrrr strategy to purchase investment properties. I am searching for deals in the Saint Joseph/ Kansas City area. I am also interested in building a team of agents, contractors, etc. with experience in working with investors! My husband and I bought our first home in 2006, right before the market tanked. Needless to say, our property value dropped. Despite the bad economy, we were both still able to advance in our careers. We also were blessed to have 2 boys in less than 2 years. We needed a larger home and wanted to be able to take advantage of the incredibly low interest rates. After realizing it was going to cost us over 10k to get out of our current home, we decided to rent. Fortunately we have had great success with renting. We use a property management company and they are fantastic! After going through this, we are wanting more rental properties (maybe everything happens for a reason)! We aren't looking to get "rich", we are basically looking at this as a long term investment and a supplement to our retirement. All of this to say, this will be the first time we buy a property for the sole purpose of renting it out. I am hoping to get more information on how to develop a team, limiting liability, what to consider when purchasing a rental property, etc..
