2014 Bio: An entrepreneur at heart, over the past 15 years, I have owned a handful of mostly unsuccessful businesses. My fiercely independent nature has attracted me to mostly unconventional business models, though I have toyed with the idea of starting a couple of brick-and-mortar style businesses. I enjoy free time alone or with my family, especially outdoors engaged in various sporting activities. How I got started: I purchased my first home just before my 23rd birthday as my primary residence. Real estate investing in fixer-uppers was on my mind at that time as a possible career path, but I had other business ideas to pursue. Ten years later, what had been tucked in the back of my mind came to the forefront when I purchased a second home as a fix-and-flip investment. When I sold that home at a moderate profit, I proved to myself I could be a success in real estate investing. Update 2024: Since then, I have continued to invest in real estate fix and flips, successfully rehabbing and selling at good profits three additional properties. After that I pivoted to landlording while living in my next project. My wife has also joined the team as a full time agent. Real Estate Goals for 2025: Complete renovations on our current home. Get a contractor's license. Become a better landlord. 2014: Continue to learn more about the different ways to buy smart. Begin finding a core team of talented people to work with.
