Long-time SD resident on the "get rich slow" / ten-year "overnight success story" program. Bought my first house-hack, owner-oc duplex back in 2001, and slowly acquired/built a portfolio consisting of a dozen rentals over the years. Passive income allowed me in 2018 to down-shift from full-time W-2 employee to part-time W-2, with the goal of complete retirement in no later than 5 years (age 54). I have broken out of "newbie" status, but looking to move into bigger things.
