I'm not looking to become a millionaire, but my goal is to replace enough of my day-job salary to be an investor full-time. I currently have ten rental units in Omaha, Nebraska. I would like two buy one to two units per year, until I reach that goal. My biggest issue is finding enough time to balance family, my day job, and my passion, which is real estate... and of course having enough cash to do every deal that I would like to. Experience: I started in 2006, partnering with my mom to buy my first house, when I could barely afford an appraisal, let alone a down payment. I have since bought three more single-family properties, and in 2014, I was able to buy out my mom's share of the first property, bringing my total up to four (then five), two of which I own free and clear. Just recently, I doubled my unit count overnight, when I bought a triplex and two SFRs from a retiring landlord. I'm definitely still learning. I can't say that it's been a huge moneymaker. Part of that might be because of the mortgage payments. I assume once they are paid off, that things will change. Real Estate Goals: My goal is to replace enough of my day-job salary to be an investor full-time. I will do this by adding one to two properties per year until I reach my goal. Currently Seeking: Properties in Omaha with seller financing down. Also looking to make contacts in Omaha, including contractors and wholesalers.
