I am a 26-year-old corporate communications professional. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 (go Wildcats!) with a degree in journalism. After reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad (cliche) I was inspired to make smart long-term investments for my future. How can one pass on passive income? I moved back home with my mom after graduation and then bought a duplex in August 2018. I live in one unit with the intent to house hack, but I’m not renting the other unit out until I save a substantial amount for personal emergency fund, rental reserves, and renovation budget to fix up the other unit. So my focus areas now are saving lots of cash as fast as possible, and mastering the rehab process. Wisdom welcome!
