I’m working full time at bank while managing my mom’s property with my brother in Sacramento CA. We bought this house in 2013 with family loan. A few years later, we own it free and clear with 100% equity. We are family oriented so three of us (Mom, my brother, and I) are investing together. Right now my brother and I are hustling to find deals while maintaining full time job. So we’re educating ourselves by reading business/RE investing books, listening to BP podcasts etc Our goal is to achieve financial freedom by investing in rentals (single or multi family). We plan to buy any property close proximity to home at the 70% or less of the market value, then fix it up for rent. As I mentioned, finding good deal is hard especially within that guideline plus finding a good and trusted GC is also going to be a challenge. But we are optimistic and willing to trade our potentials, skills, times and capital to gain partnership with successful investor in our area. Our short term goal is to learn how to communicate and develop relationship with people to get that good deal and find good contractor. I(we) am hoping to network with BP people to share our experiences and build long term relationship, potentially partnership.
