I recently owned a small business in which I was contracted through Bimbo Bakeries. I say "owned" loosely because I didn't own any assets, just the "rights" to a specific territory. After 5 years of 7 days a week, with little to no time or energy for my family I decided I needed something else! Something that after 5 years of hard work I can actually reap the benefits of my labor and also build a passive income. My father was a Real Estate Investor in the late 90's, and my mother owned her own cleaning business for over a decade. Seeing them have the flexibility to run a business and have the time be there for their 4 kids. As a father of 3, I long for the ability to wake up with the family, share a breakfast, and be there for extra curricular activities. Real Estate came to mind and oddly I just seemed to soak up any and everything real estate. Over the last year I've acquired dozens of books and absorbed as much as I could.
