Hi everyone, I am from salem oregon and am new to this so bear with me if I don't do things correctly. I am interested in real estate investing in my local area and am curious if there is anyone out there who is doing this around here? I could use some coaching, so if you have advice plaes speak freely....thanks

Hello Jay and welcome aboard. You've made a great first step in learning about real estate investing - getting involved here on BiggerPockets.

The best way to get started is to figure out what you want to do and what you're good at. To do that, start reading! Read our article directory, the forums, the BiggerPockets Blog, and our member blogs. Take a few weeks/months.

By then, you'll gain a lot of knowledge, and will have a better idea as to what interests you. Then, you'll want to start mapping out a business plan, and of course, ask any questions that you've got.

That should be enough to keep you busy for a while.

We're here to help, so let us know when you have anything in particular you'd like to know about.
