American Expats Investing in the United States

Hello BP,

I am a newbie pro-investor currently raising capital for my first property in the United States. I am living in China and will be for the next few years, returning to the US only to buy. I would like to get started in early 2016, doing buy-and-hold with a SFH. I have a friend who is a successful real estate investor with a siazable operation to mentor me and manage the property.

He has assured me himself that he cannot do as good of a job with my property as I would. I accept this am willing to take that risk. But should I be?

Many of the investors I learn from on the podcast and books have considerable investments out of their area. Is investing from out-of-country a workable way to begin?

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing, as an investor, broker, or manager?

Humbly yours,

Michael
