Anyone familiar with REISuccess.com?

Question

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone heard of this company? http://REISuccess.com.  I attended one of there meetings yesterday and I am going back again on Monday. Please tell me if you have had experience with them.

Serious. Register, purchase your tickets, airfare and hotel and you will learn more from the speakers than any guru will ever tell you.

Whats more is, this place will be crawling with a lot of "more advanced" BP'ers who would be more than willing to chat with ya, give ya some advice, direction and some stories on mistakes they made that can save you a ton of money and what they've done successfully to make them a lot of money.

If you don't show up, you're left with no more excuses to either sift through years of knowledge on these forums or go waste a ton of money being upsold from a guy who probably hasn't actually done a deal in years. The choice is yours.

If you think there is " a simple step by step learning process that is ultra conservative in nature that will allow us to make a deal, and maybe make some money" you are not understanding.  Even these "courses" are not simple tools that will allow you to make a bunch of money (otherwise everyone would be rich).  I am a huge believer of multiple learning methods, so I recommend multiple tools to getting a basic foundation in real estate:
1)  Bigger Pockets and real estate blogs focused on the area of investing you look to enter
2)  Networking: attend real estate investing associations in your area to meet more experienced investors...you will likely find someone willing to take you on "as an apprentice".
3)  Library:  a lot has been written on the basics of real estate investing and you can find threads on BP dedicated to which books have helped people the most
The fact of the matter is real estate investing is not easy…no matter what method of education you decide on you are going to have to filter information (this is good practice for filtering potential investment properties)…so why not save your money for purchasing your first investment property.  The reason so many experienced investors recommend against these courses is they have seen people get burned, and do not want it to happen to more people.

Spend about 12 hours reading these forums at no charge, except for your time.

For $15K, you could buy a house and learn a ton.  But spend a chunk of time here before writing any checks, or especially before putting it on a credit card.

Kevin go read some books, and guess what?  There are threads here that list helpful books.  I read and I read and I read.  Books, blogs, forums (BP is the most active I’ve found), and newspapers, anything I could find.  While I learned I wrote a business plan, and worked on deals.  I’ll be purchasing my third long term hold within the next 4 months, and I should be selling my second rehab within 2 months (wish me luck).  I’ve also dabbled with tax lien certificates which hopefully will pay off soon.  I’ll quit my day job this spring, and was able to accomplish this without spending a dime on training.  Well I guess I did buy a few books.

I purchased my first property two years ago, and am confident and comfortable with what I have accomplished thus far; however I still feel new to investing.  I still feel like there is far too much I don’t know.  If spending 15k will take that feeling (maybe fear) away from you, and you feel that it’s necessary then go for it.  But like others have told you it’s possible to do it all for free, and use that 15k to invest.

there is no simple step by step book/program. wish there was.

get a deal that gives you $600 profit/month and learn slowly. you can't learn if you are making $50/month profit. too many ways to get burned and hate life in the process.

hard to tell you how to get the deals, but plenty of blogs and threads on how to evaluate deals. 123flip is a great start. he breaks it down so you can calculate your potential profit.

From a rookie's perspective, the problem with you "more advanced" guys telling us rookies NOT to buy programs and to spend hours here....etc... is that it can take YEARS to filter through the garbage and if you go and "learn" by following some garbage, you just may be out MORE than $15k if you really screw up.

So instead of telling us NOT to waste money and to scour the pages here... how about directing us to a simple step by step learning process that is ultra conservative in nature that will allow us to make a deal, and maybe make some money, or better yet, if you really feel charitable, consider taking some of us on as apprentices and let is work for free for you while you let us see behind the curtain some real deals go down.

It's frustrating to be told to jump into an ocean of knowledge and make a go of it, it is at the very best, AS RISKY as buying a course at any price mentioned so far.

You would be better to take your money and put it in a deal with an experienced investor in your area.

You will learn real world stuff and not garbage in a course someone is trying to get you to buy.Plus to boot you will make a return on your money if you invest it right.

I am always blown away by people giving money to these idiots.Think about this. The SEC jumps on people's back for raising for investments  but yet these people can sell rip off courses for a premium and keep doing it all day long.
